Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly at his residence to wish him on his 49th birthday.
Mamata was seen handing over yellow roses and sweets to Ganguly.
According to sources, the Chief Minister as there inside Ganguly's residence for almost half an hour.
Speaking to media, Ganguly said that due to the pandemic he didn’t celebrate his birthday.
Incidentally, this was the first visit of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Ganguly’s residence.
Earlier this day, several fans were also seen gathering in front of their beloved dada’s house to wish him on his birthday.
Meanwhile, fans and several colleagues of Ganguly took to Twitter and wished him.
“My beloved Dadi. Happy birthday. Wishing you a healthy and happy year ahead,” Tendulkar tweeted.
Other cricketers including Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif also took to Twitter to wish the BCCI president.
It can be recalled that earlier this year Ganguly were hospitalized several times due to heart ailments.
