Kolkata : A group of students of prestigious Presidency University staged demonstration in the university campus on Friday when chief minister Mamata Banerjee and education minister Partha Chatterjee went there to attend a programme.
The students were protesting against various issues including the resignation of some internationally reputed teachers for alleged ‘mis-behavior’ of the vice chancellor of the university.
The students assembled in the gate of the university much before the chief minister and education minister arrive the campus.
The police cordoned off the entire area apprehending law and order issue. The students were carrying placards like “we are not welcoming you the chief minister, or “ Go back the chief minister .“ They were also shouting slogans and tried to disturb the programme attended by CM..
