Bengaluru : Former PM HD Deve Gowda will contest from Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency. Speaking at a party meeting here, the 85-year-old Janata Dal (S) supremo said he has given his nod and that the current elections would be his last political battle.
In the 2014 election too Gowda had indicated that he would no longer participate in LS polls. But this time he had a change of heart as two of his grandsons – Prajwal Gowda, son of Revana Gowda, and Nikhil Gowda, son of CM HD Kumaraswamy – are in the fray. If they win, the senior Gowda wants to hand-hold them in parliamentary politics. Deve Gowda vacated his bastion Hassan, from where he has never lost for the past 15 elections, in favour of Prajwal.
