Delhi Class 9 and 11 exams cancelled: Dy CM Manish Sisodia

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today announced that exams of Class 9 and Class 11 have been cancelled due to COVID-19 situation. The Dy CM has also made other major announcements for exams and promoting students.

During a press conference, Mr Sisodia said that examinations for Class 9 and 11 which were postponed at April 12 have been cancelled now so there would be no examinations held. He further said, private schools which had conducted annual exams and mid-term exams but were halted due to COVID-19 can promote their students on the basos of results of held exams."

While schools which are left to conuduct final exams can pass their students on the basis of the results of mid-term exams, he added.

In-case if any of the private, aided, govt schools have not conducted mid-term exams should promote students on the basis of the marks of best 2 subjects in any of the basic examinations held.

Results of examinations of Class 9 and Class 11 which were conducted at government schools and colleges will be announced on June 22 on official website of delhi govt," he said, adding that students shall not be called to institutions to collect their marksheets.

Apart from these, students who havent qualified should be given a chance to reappear but they will be qualified on basis of assignments and projects, isntead of physically appearing for the exams.

Delhi recorded 305 COVID-19 cases and 44 more fatalities on Thursday with a positivity rate of 0.41 per cent, according to the health bulletin released on Thursday.

The national capital had recorded 337 new infections with a positivity rate of 0.46 per cent and 36 fatalities on Wednesday.
