Dehradun: Bike-borne miscreants shoot petrol pump owner, loot Rs 12 lakh

On Monday, bike-borne miscreants shot a petrol pump owner and looted Rs 12 lakh in Dehradun. The miscreants, on the bike, came in front of the petrol pump owner’s car and snatched the bag.

According to Amar Ujala, after the petrol pump owner protested, the miscreants shot him and snatched the bag. The injured businessman was rushed to nearby Synergy Hospital. According to doctors, the bullet hit the man's shoulder. The cops have started investigating the matter and started conducting checks. The incident took place around 9.30 pm on Monday, near wing number 1 of Prem Nagar. The petrol pump owner was identified as Gagan Bhatia. At the time of the incident, Bhatia was on his way home in a Santro car. That is when two bike-borne miscreants stood in front of Bhatia's car.

Before Bhatia could understand anything, one of the miscreants approached the car's window and started forcefully taking the bag. Bhatia caught the bag and pushed the miscreant and sat in the car. In the meantime, the second miscreant came and shot Bhatia on his shoulder. After being shot, Gagan Bhatia fell on the ground and the two miscreants took the bag and fled from the scene.

After Bhatia was shot, the crowd gathered and informed the police. In the meanwhile, Bhatia was rushed to the hospital. SP Chaubey told the leading news portal that they are carrying out searches and are scanning the CCTV footages to identify the miscreants. Cops have said that some people are saying that Bhatia had Rs 12 lakh in the bag, while some are saying he had Rs 9 lakh. The cops are currently investigating the matter.
