Crude bombs hurled, houses vandalised - How two mobs clashed in West Bengal's Murshidabad district

Tension mounted in Hijli village area under Beldanga Police of Murshidabad District on Wednesday morning when crude bombs were hurled after a clash between two groups in the village.

The clash was over an old issue which is still unclear. The bombing took place since the morning and houses were being vandalized as trouble continued between two groups.

A woman was seen crying as her house was affected by the bombing and vandalizing. The lady was caught between the two groups and is clueless why her house was vandalized. “They kicked me and I fell on the other side. They came and vandalized the house before fleeing,” said the woman.

Window panes of two and three-storeyed buildings were broken as the two groups lashed out at each other. Several villagers from both groups have been allegedly injured in this attack and bombing. The situation is quited heated in the locality.

A large force of Police personnel have been deployed in the area to control the situation.
