NEW DELHI: In the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, the Congress on Thursday asked the party leaders to go on ‘padyatra’ (march) in every constituency to cover all villages and towns as part of the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections before it’s time for the election rallies.  The idea came from Congress president Sonia Gandhi at a meeting of the campaign committee meeting where she laid stress on mass contact. She also asked the party leaders not to be swayed by the negative propaganda and artificial hype of the rivals.  The party sources said Rahul Gandhi chose not to speak at the meeting.                                        (Our Bureau)
