New Delhi : No more long rope to Prime Minister Modi. The Congress on Thursday gave its young brigade of the Youth Congress a call for a ‘hulla bol’ to dislodge his Two senior general secretaries talked of Modi’s deceptions and falsehood of his politics. Digvijay accused him of selling false dreams to mislead the innocent and Madhusudan Mistry called him ‘Jootha No 1’ (number one liar). Many young leaders accused Modi of riding to power on the bodies of innocent riot victims.
Other Prime Ministers too faced such acerbic and abusive attack but only at the fag end of their tenures when the popular support faded and elections came knocking.
This rare treatment to Modi when his honeymoon period is still not over was primarily because of the distrust several political parties nurture about him.
Digvijay Singh chose to attend the meeting along with most of the AICC secretaries who recently campaigned against seniors for targeting Rahul Gandhi.
He asked the leadership to shun those who do politics of networking and lobbying and hoped it would promote those working on the The ‘hulla bol’ chorus got accentuated when Mistry roared: “Zootha hai, nakli hai, banawati hai…(a liar, fake, artificial).”
He is double-faced, call his bluff and no need to fear him, said Mistry who hails from Gujarat and who contested against him from Baroda in the May general elections.
Digvijay said: “Ache din (good days) have come only for Modi and Amit Shah. Not for BJP. Ask Advani, Rajnath, Murli Manohar Joshi… every minister is under surveillance, everybody’s phone is being tapped. He is using all those tricks as PM what he did in Gujarat.”
Contempt for the Prime Minister and sympathy for some senior BJP leaders was reflected in every single speech.
Mahila Congress chief Shobha Oza said, “The lies are exposed. Modi blasted our PM as Maum Mohan Singh for intrusions by China, aur ab Chinese PM ko jhule jhula rahe hain.”
Younger leaders were full of vitriol. While Jitin Prasada talked of Modi’s double-faced politics as he himself focused on development and encouraged other leaders to spread poison in the society, Sachin Pilot said, “We are ready to face sticks, bullets and jail but this government will not be allowed to vitiate the atmosphere.”
Ironically, neither Sonia Gandhi nor Rahul participated in the first dharna against the Modi Government that attracted the Youth Congress workers from all over the country.
Many eagerly awaited Rahul to come and felt disappointed that he did no’t turn up. Youth Congress chief Rajeev Satav announced similar rallies in every state.
