Chhattisgarh: Naxals torch six vehicles in Neco Iron ore mines in Narayanpur, supervisor killed

Raipur: A group of armed Maoists carried out an attack on Aamdai Iron ore mines, Narayanpur engaged in road construction work, they torched vehicles and killed one person, Police said.

The armed naxals carried out an attack on the road construction workers at Jaiswal Neco allotted iron ore mines in morning hours around 10 o’clock, Bastar Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P said.

In the attack, they brutally beat the road construction workers and killed a supervisor with sticks, the IG said.

The armed Maoists also hijacked the labourers on gun point and set the vehicles engaged in road construction on fire.

Just receiving the information, a police party was dispatched, Naxals also tried to stop the security forces but after a short exchange of fire, they escaped in the jungles. Combing operations are still on to nab the outlawed CPI(Maoist) members, the IG said.

Meanwhile the locals informed that the brutal attack was carried out in Aamdai valley on the contractor and company workers engaged in construction of the approach road to the mines from the main road.

Aamdai valley was situated between the main entrance to Naxal Headquarters in Abujhmad’s Orchha and Chhote Donger.

In the horrific attack Maoist set fire on 4 chain mountain vehicles, 2 hiwa.

However, the labourers who received injuries in the attack narrated the horrific details and said, all of sudden the armed naxals in uniform barged into their working site, they hijacked everybody at gunpoint. They first killed one person on the spot and then supplied Naxal pamphlets to everybody and threatened not to come to the site for work twice.

Naxals reiterated they couldn't hand over their rights on land, water and forest.

After detaining more than an hour Naxals released all the 14 people, said a labourer engaged in borewell work.
