NEW DELHI: The Government is yet to take a decision on the 2016 report of the expert panel, headed by noted film director Shyam Benegal (84) to remove censorship powers of the
Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) and it function only as a certification body.
In a reply to Dr Shashi Tharoor (Cong) in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said the report was examined "clause wise" in his ministry, but no decision has been taken "due to intricate complexities involved in the matter.
