Kolkata: Star-studded electoral battles and star campaigners notwithstanding, a clutch of celebrities dazzled on the fifth and penultimate polling day of the West Bengal assembly elections on Saturday as they took their turns at voting surrounded by paparazzi and public alike.

Stargazing took a completely different meaning on Saturday when a sparkling rainbow-hued halo around the sun took centre stage on a sleepy Saturday. But all eyes darted towards cinema icons and sportspersons as they made their way to cast ballots in various constituencies in south Kolkata.

Actress-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Roopa Ganguly, contesting from Howrah North, sportingly showed her inked finger sitting smugly in her vehicle. Ganguly looked at ease in a blue saree, a far cry from her usual grave expression seen during the last few phases. An ever-smiling Trinamool Congress MP and veteran actress Moon Moon Sen posed with her entire family, including daughter-actresses Riya and Raima after exercising their franchise.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta obliged fans and fellow voters with selfies while veteran actor Ranjit Mullick and her wife posed as actress-daughter Koel clicked selfies of the trio with their inked fingers. Vivacious Indrani Halder and stylish June Maliah took a break from their hectic showbiz schedules for the polls.-IANS
