Casual labourer trampled to death by elephant

Erode (TN): A 61-year-old casual labourer was trampled to death by elephants in Burgur forest area, police said.

Forest officials said the man from Onnakarai tribal hamlet was tending to some cattle and took them inside the forest, but did not return till last night.

Relatives launched a search for him and found his dead body at Sadesamyparai area with marks of elephant feet all over the ground, indicating he had been trampled.

They then informed police about it and the body was recovered.
