New Delhi : Refusing to monitor government efforts for getting the Kohinoor back to India from the United Kingdom, the Supreme Court on Friday said the court cannot order the diamond’s return or say that the UK should not auction it.
“We are quite surprised as to how an Indian court can pass an order to bring something which is in the UK,” a bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said while dismissing a public interest litigation filed by All India Human Rights and Social Justice Front.–IANS
