Thakurnagar: Celebration started at Thakurnagar in North 24 Parganas which is the house of Matuas after Bongaon MP Shantanu Thakur’s name featured in the minister’s list in cabinet reshuffle.
Manoj Mandal, neighbor of Shantanu said that the BJP is always in favour of the Matus and by making Shantanu a minister will uplift the status of the Matuas.
“The TMC government on one side had never bothered about the Matuas but the BJP government works in favour of the Matuas and making Shantanu minister proves BJPs claim that they are with us,” said Manoj.
Former TMC MP Mamatabala Thakur said that after two years the BJP just to woo the voters ahead of the 2024 elections had thought of making someone from Matua a minister.
Haribat Sarkar who was seen dancing and praying inside a temple said that through Shantanu they will send their problems to the Central government.
Meanwhile, expressing grief Asansol BJP MP Babul Supriyo took to social media and wrote that ‘he is happy to leave without a spot on corruption on me’.
Notably, though there are four ministers of states from West Bengal now, the previous two MoS Babul Supriyo and Debasree Chowdhury had resigned from their post.
“Yes, when there is smoke there must be a fire somewhere. Not being able to take phone calls of my friends in the media who care for me hence let me spell it out myself..Yes, I have resigned from the Council Of Ministers,” read Babul’s post.
Slamming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “now for him both Babul and the women from the Raj Bangshi community is bad in front of Modi.”
