BJP takes decisive lead in Tehri bypoll

Dehradun:  Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah of the BJP today took a decisive lead of 18,000 votes over Congress candidate and Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna’s son Saket in the high-profile Tehri Lok Sabha bypoll, Election Commission sources said.

At the end of counting in 12 out of a total of 14 Assembly constituencies Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading by 18,000 votes, they said.

Bypoll to the seat was necessitated after the chief minister resigned from it following his victory from Sitarganj Assembly constituency.
