Kolkata : There was tension in Esplanade area on Wednesday when a large number of BJP supporters tried to break the barricade set up by the police to prevent the saffron party supporters who were demanding the arrest of the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders who were allegedly involved in Narda case.
The BJP rally, led by the state unit president Dilip Ghosh, started from College Street. When the rally reached Dorina Crossing in Esplanade, the police stopped them. A scuffling ensued between the police and the BJP supporters. Later a five-member delegation met the West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi at the Governor’s House and submitted a memorandum to him.
Later Dilip Ghosh told news person that the chief minister Mamata Banerjee should immediately remove the three ministers who were allegedly involved in the Narda sting operation.
