Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda's visit to Goa scheduled on July 12 has been cancelled. The BJP president was Nadda was expected to visit Goa for two days from July 12 for an organisational meeting.
Elections in Goa are due to be held in 2022 to elect the 40 member-state Assembly. The term of the current assembly elected in 2017 will expire on March 15, 2022.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a meeting with the BJP national secretaries, along with JP Nadda, at his official residence in New Delhi.
Almost all the national secretaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were present at the meeting chaired by Modi. BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh was also present.
Earlier in the day, Nadda chaired a meeting with the BJP national secretaries at the party headquarters here. The meeting lasted for about an hour.
Modi held similar meetings last month with the BJP general secretaries and the heads of the saffron party's different wings at his residence. Both meetings had lasted for about five hours and wide-ranging political discussions were held, mainly on the recently-held and the upcoming Assembly polls.
