Patna : Usha Sinha, a former ruling Janata Dal-United legislator and the wife of Bihar School Examination Board’s former chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, who is now on the run, also is in trouble – it turns out that her degrees are fake, officials on Monday said.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Bihar Police is conducting searches at various places to arrest Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, one of the key accused in the Class 12 toppers scam.
The role of his wife Usha Sinha too in the toppers scam is in question, and the SIT is keen to interrogate her as non-FIR accused in the case.
Besides, she now has a lot of explaining to do about educational qualifications, and face another charge of holding fake degrees.
According to the affidavit filed by Usha Sinha in 2010, she was 49 years old when she contested the Bihar assembly elections and won the polls.
Sinha’s year of birth in the affidavit is given as 1961, and she completed her matriculation from the UP Education Board in 1969 – which means she passed her matriculation when she was only eight-year-old.
Her affidavit says that she completed her Master’s degree from Awadh University in 1976.
Interestingly, Awadh University was established in 1975. Going by her affidavit, Usha Sinha completed the two years of MA in just one year and passed out in 1976.
Also, she earned her Ph.D. at 23 from Magadh University.
Currently, she is working in the Hindi department of the College of Commerce in Patna – but missing along with her husband after the toppers scam broke out. –IANS
