New Delhi: Veteran Hindi music director of ‘Disco Dancer’ fame, Bappi Lahiri, and a few other film and TV personalities joined the BJP on Friday in the presence of party president Rajnath Singh here. Lahiri, the flamboyant music director known for wearing heavy gold ornaments, cheered for Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and insisted there is a wave in favour of the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Lahiri had campaigned for the Congress in the past. Kolkata-born Lahiri has been living in Mumbai for over 40 years. It is not yet clear whether he will contest from Mumbai or Kolkata or he will just campaign for the party across India.
