New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has met relatives of the farmer who committed suicide at the venue of an AAP farmer rally in the Jantar Mantar area of Central Delhi. The farmer from Dausa committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree. The farmer was brought down and rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Doctors, however, declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, there was a protest launched outside the hospital. Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said, “We are taking details of this matter and will comment on it when I get all information.”
The AAP today held a farmers rally to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government’s Land Bill, after calling off the proposed march to Parliament. The rally was addressed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders. Farmers from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and the Bundelkhand and Poorvanchal belt of Uttar Pradesh will also participate in the rally.
