Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for an hour today after TRS members and some Congress and TDP legislators from Telangana region raised slogans in support of separate statehood, disrupting proceedings.

As soon as the House met for the day, they trooped into the Well of the House, and raised slogans demanding Telangana state and against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaker N Manohar’s repeated appeals to return to their seats for smooth conduct of the proceedings fell on deaf ears following which he adjourned the Assembly.

Today is the last day of the vote-on-account budget session and the list of business includes passage of two Bills.
