BJP president Amit Shah met LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi on Monday. Both leaders are livid at the manner they have been evicted from the election scene this year. The meeting was ostensibly aimed at damage control and bringing the ‘benched gurus’ back on board.
But the actual reason might be the buzz that Joshi may contest against PM Modi in Varanasi. There were reports that Amit Shah would meet them before the manifesto launch and give them a copy each but that didn’t happen either.
Earlier, Shah had not bothered to visit them personally to explain the decision of not fielding candidates above 75, taken at a parliamentary board meeting.
