Gandhinagar :  Shadow-boxing is in full flow within the BJP as prime ministerial  ‘probables’ jostle to become ‘possibles’ in the run upto the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, still over a year away.

Advani remark triggers Modi for PM campaign

Within days of veteran BJP leader L K Advani championing the cause of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as a better achiever than his one-time protégé Narendra Modi, a follower of the latter has opted for a novel way to pitch-in.

An ardent votary of Narendra Modi for prime ministership,Tajinderpal Singh Bagga, has invited Advani to be the chief guest for a marathon being organized in Delhi as a part of Modi for PM campaign by a social network community page Modi-Fying India. The community page, is run by former BJP youth wing member Bagga who has of late been busy pulling for Modi as PM in novel ways. He has been marketing campaign merchandize like Narendra Modi-Namo- Tee shirts and stickers and organizing rock concerts in Delhi for him in the national capital.

Advani had created a stir of sorts when he praised Chauhan for developing a ‘bemaru’ state like MP as compared to Modi’s achievement in Gujarat which was always a developed one. Advani also likened Chauhan to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his humbleness and sobriety thus queering the pitch in the matter of the announcement of prime ministerial probables within the party ahead of the national executive in Goa.

Though Bagga denies any political motives in his campaign, few are convinced and speculation of the unseen hand operating from behind is rife. Moreso because he has chosen to upload the invitation letter on the community page.

The letter reads, “At a time when the country is burning in the fire of corruption, a ray of hope is visible to the country in the form of Narendra Modi,” the letter read. “Your party has given the country a leader like Narendra Modi and we congratulate you for this. We hope that as the youth of this country have been receiving your blessings, you would come and bless (us) on June 30 at India gate and guide us in our battle that we are fighting for the sake of mother India,” it stated. Bagga has many other ‘modi-fied achievements to his credit. He had launched a fusion song as well as a rap song for Modi’s Prime ministerial campaign and is now on the job to release a video game as well.
