The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also approached the EC on harassment of the owner of its call centre by Delhi Police on ‘behest of BJP’. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the AAP delegation sought suspension of three Delhi police officials harassing owner of the call centre it had hired to ‘help people whose names were struck off the voter list on the BJP’s direction’.
“Over 24 lakh names have been removed from the voter list and we are only helping them for re-registration through phone calls from the call centre,” Sisodia said, alleging that Delhi Police was threatening its owner to make him fall in line if he worked for AAP. “The call centre is not doing something proxy. AAP has hired it and helping people register for voting is no crime,” he said. –Our Bureau
