AAI employees threaten to go on hunger strike over bonus row

New Delhi: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) employees have threatened their management that they will go on a hunger strike if their bonuses are not paid to them. In a letter written by the AAI employees Union, they have said that they would go on a hunger strike from April 4 if they are not paid their bonuses.

The letter mentions four issues, namely- bonus profit sharing with the employees, defined Superannuation Pension, Employment assistance and release of an increment to the employees who completed 15 years of service on revision of new pay scales.

“With constraint it is to bring to your kind notice that Airport Authority Employees Union has been working with constructive approach to promote overall growth of the AAI. Now, the Union forced to start agitation against the careless attitude of the management of the authority towards the long important issues from 04-04-2016 with lunch hour demonstration and 72 hours hunger strike from 11-04-2016 followed by 19-04-2016,” the union said in its letter.
