5 ‘young’ politicians who will be prominent figures of Indian politics in future

The race for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has started and top parties are engaging to strong competition to woo voters. Parties such as BJP, Congress, BSP, SP and TMC are the frontrunners in the election speeches. Popular leaders like PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Mamata Bannerjee are actively participating to address rallies in various states and leaving no chances to prove their opponents wrong.

Politics has become too intense now and many parties are also introducing new and comparatively young faces to attract voters. Here we look at some such politicians who are comparatively young than other politicians and can become future of Indian politics.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Congress)

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has a political background but it was only in 2019 that she ventured into politics. He never took part in political rallies and addressed people, but she became widely popular after addressing people in political rallies.

She is 47 years old at present but quite younger and new as compared to other popular female politicians like Mayawati (63), Mamata Bannerjee (64) and Sushma Swaraj (67). While less experience in politics can be one of her weakness, she has a great speaking skills which can attract voters in her favour.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (BJP)

49-year-old Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is an icon for youths due to his sports background. An Olympic silver-medallist in shooting, Rathore was in Indian Army too. He retired as a colonel in 2014, before joining BJP. He was elected as the MP from Jaipur (rural) in Lok Sabha elections 2014.

Rathore has a respectable image among people due to his sports and Army background, which can help in his favour in future. Also, as a Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports under Modi government, he has taken many initiatives for the development of sports in the country. He is again going to contest from same constituency in Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Sachin Pilot (Congress)


Sachin Pilot is almost a poster boy of Congress in Rajasthan. Aged 41 years, he is among the front-runners of young generation in Indian politics. He was also sought for Rajasthan’s CM post after Congress victory in Assembly elections 2018, but had to leave the post for Ashok Gehlot. Still, he is the deputy CM of the state.

Sachin’s strength in politics is his political family background. His father Rajesh Pilot was a former union Minister of India. Also, he is into politics from a very young age, therefore, is well aware of the political tactics. Moreover, he is highly qualified, having MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Jyotiraditya Scindia (Congress)


Being from a royal family, 48-year-old Jyotiraditya Scindia is a well-known name in Madhya Pradesh Congress. Scindia is grandson of Jivajirao Scindia, the last ruling emperor of Gwalior. An MP from Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh, Scindia is also a well-educated politician like Sachin Pilot.

He has some differences with current Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, as the two leaders have competition in the state. His name was even suggested for the post of Chief Minister, but Kamal Nath was party’s final call. With the active role he plays in politics of Madhya Pradesh, he is a prominent political figure in the state.

Milind Deora (Congress)

A popular name in Mumbai, Milind Deora is someone who took to politics from the early age of 27. Currently President of Mumbai regional congress committee, he is going to contest Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from South Mumbai constituency. Deora, currently 42 years old, is an aspiring figure in Maharashtra politics. Studied from Boston University, he is a well-qualified man in politics.

Deora has been actively involved in many social causes too. Through his NGO Sparsh, he is committed to propagate free job-oriented computer education to economically underprivileged students. The NGO has worked to provide computer education to poor students of Mumbai and also computerised hundreds of poor schools in Mumbai.
