Coimbatore: A teenaged school boy was taken into custody for allegedly calling the police control room and creating bomb scare in the city.

According to police, a call was received around 10 last night to the control room stating that bombs were planted at six places in the city and dared the police to prevent the blasts.

Police managed to trace the call from a mobile phone in Singanallur in the city and enquired with the owner about the call today.

Even as the owner denied of making any call to the control room, police caught hold of his 16-year old son, studying in 10th standard in a private school.

The boy said to have confessed that he only made the call, without knowing the consequences. Moreover, he used to call ‘108’ and inform them about fake accidents. police said.
