New Delhi: One of the faces of the twin assault at Patiala House is Vikram Chauhan, a lawyer by profession who wears his right wing credentials on his sleeve.

On Tuesday, Chauhan had taken the law in his fists and wreaked his frustration on the JNU faculty, students and journalists who had come to attend the court hearing of arrested student Kanhaiya Kumar.

Not the kind to give up easily, Chauhan and his brigade again barged into the court complex on Wednesday carrying flags and shouting “Vande Mataram Bolna Hoga.

Speaking to NDTV, Chauhan had said on Tuesday he did organize a protest against “anti-nationals” but it veered out of control owing to the provocation by the JNU teachers. Despite the visual evidence, no action has been taken against him.

Chauhan has often been snapped with BJP leaders and, according to NDTV, regularly sends out invitations on WhatsApp to BJP events and urges people to be on time before a leader is to arrive. He reportedly sent such messages on Monday and Tuesday, too.

SC GETS TASTE OF NATIONALISM: The Apex Court had earlier in the day ordered the magistrate to adjourn the sedition case and asked the police to evacuate all those present in the court. It also summoned the Delhi

Police Commissioner for not beefing up the security in and around the court complex despite its orders, reports our Delhi Bureau.

Lawyers carrying the Tricolour on thick sticks were bent upon creating trouble by circumventing the Apex Court’s order, which was limited to regulations inside the court room. So, they resorted to violence, including stone throwing, in and around the court complex; they also demanded the hanging of the JNU student leader before assaulting him physically.

Meanwhile the Apex Court itself had a taste of “nationalism” when two lawyers disrupted its hearing on the beating up of journalists and JNU students.

Slogans of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” rent the air as lawyer Rajeev Tadac, who was involved in the beating on Monday, created a ruckus in the top court as a shocked Bench and advocate Prashant Bhashan watched the proceedings.
