Bengaluru : Senior advocate Abha Singh on Sunday criticised Salman Khan for his remark on the hanging of 1993 Bombay blasts convict Yakub Memon, saying the Bollywood actor’s statement is against the rule of law. “Salman Khan himself is a convict, whose appeal is in the High Court. After that he has the audacity to say that Yakub Memon is innocent. Is he trying to question the judicial system of the country when the order has been given after due procedure of the law?” Singh told ANI.

“Salman Khan’s statement is very improper, it is against the rule of law,” she added. In a controversial tweet, Salman has said that 1993 Yakub Memon should not be hanged as the real culprit is the latter’s brother Tiger Memon. Yakub Memon has been sentenced to death for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The Supreme Court had earlier this week rejected his last-minute appeal and upheld his hanging for July 30.
