Mumbai : A day after an FIR was filed against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui about physically assaulting a woman, he  denied the allegations. However, his wife on her part filed a cross-FIR against five people in the case.

The actor appeared before the Versova police on Monday afternoon and recorded his statement. “Being a responsible citizen I’ve come to the police and given my statement. The other members of the society are with me and the allegations are false,” said Siddiqui.

The actor’s wife has further alleged that some of the  family members of the complainant misbehaved with her. “The actor’s wife Aliya Siddiqui filed an FIR against the six people of the building. Some of them are the complainant’s relatives and the complainant herself,” informed a senior officer of the Versova police station.

Aliya Siddiqui has alleged that the woman Soni Dandekar forcefully entered their office space. “She has alleged that Dandekar, her daughter Hina Shaikh and four other unidentified people includ-ing three men entered their

house and started hurling abuses. She also claims that they pushed her and behaved inappropriately with her,” said the officer. The complainant and her daughter on Sunday alleged that the actor had pushed and slapped them. They said that they had a dispute over the parking space in the building which was being illegally occupied by the actor and his family.

According to the allegations, six people including the complainant and her daughter have been booked under Sections 354, 143, 147 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.
