Roger Federer eases past Gasquet to set up US Open semi-final clash with Wawrinka

London: Roger Federer produced an imperious performance as he cruised past Richard Gasquet in straight sets to progress through to the US Open semi-finals at Flushing Meadows. The 17-time Grand Slam champion smashed 50 winners and 16 aces to easily overcome his French opponent Gasquet in a contest that lasted just 87 minutes, the Guardian reported. Meanwhile, reigning French Open champion Stan Wawrinka also wrapped up action quickly as he brushed aside the big serving 15th seeded Anderson in just one hour and 47 minutes to set up mouth-watering semi-final clash against Federer.
