New Delhi : Keen to retrieve its lost ground, the BJP has decided to fast track all investigations against former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, reports CNN IBN.
It has accordingly decided to convert the Blue Corner notice against Lalit Modi into a Red Corner one if he doesn’t oblige the authorities and offer to return to India.
Once the Red Corner notice is issued, the ex-IPL chief can be detained in any country and handed over to India. The TV channel quoted sources as saying that the notices would be served to Lalit Modi in the next two weeks.
The government is worried on another score: it does not want to jeopardise the Monsoon Session of Parliament and wants the row to blow over before that. On the menu in the ensuing session are key reform legislations like the GST and Land Bill, which will get further delayed if the Lalit Modi row is allowed to linger.
