Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party leader and former Maharashtra Home Minister R. R. Patil, who is admitted at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for the past few days, is being examined by senior oncologist surgeons for possible oral infection. It may be recalled Patil’s boss Sharad Pawar, too, had been admitted to the same hospital for a similar complaint about a couple of years back.
Patil was not seen at the party leaders’ conclave at Alibaug last week. Upon enquiry, party sources had said that he was absent due to ill health. “He was admitted here on Thursday,” a junior doctor at the Breach Candy hospital told FPJ on condition of anonymity. However, he did not divulge any details regarding the nature and gravity of the problem for which Patil has been admitted at the hospital.
