New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Thursday denied any interference in the Tarun Tejpal sexual assault case, saying he only wants justice to be delivered in the matter.

“There is no interference or detailing in criminal investigation in the case (Tejpal). There will be equal and proper treatment to both the sides,” Parrikar said while speaking at India Today’s Agenda Aaj Tak meet here.

He said no one should be worried that the Tehelka editor-in-chief would be treated unfairly for any reason.

Parrikar and the BJP have been accused by Tejpal of manipulating police investigation against the editor, who is accused of sexually assaulting a junior colleague twice in a Goa resort.

On the trial to be held in a fast-track court, Parrikar said: “He wants the case to be fast-tracked as per the Supreme Court guidelines. Anyway justice delayed is justice denied and we want that the victim gets justice fast.”
