Raipur: A naxal, carrying a reward of Rs 8,000 on his head, was arrested from Maoist-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
The cadre was nabbed by a joint team of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) and district force from a forest area under Usoor police station limits late last evening, a senior police official said.
The arrested ultra was identified as Nuppo Bhima (30).
The search party was on a combing operation in Usoor region, over 400 kms away from the state capital Raipur. On reaching forest of Galgam village, security forces spotted a man fleeing from the area following which they chased and nabbed him, he said.
During interrogation, the rebel admitted to being involved in the movement, the official said, adding that he was wanted in cases of loot, arson, murder and attempt to murder in the region.
His further interrogation was on, the official added.
