Harda (MP): At least 24 passengers, including 10 women and five children, were killed and 25 others injured when 12 coaches of two trains from Mumbai derailed in Harda in Madhya Pradesh and plunged into a swollen Machak river.
Following the incident, Ministry of Railway informed on twitter : Relief and rescue almost over. Restoration work at site also simultaneously on going. DRM/BPL & Branch Officers assisting. Simple Injured persons offered first aid at site- Rly medical vans from Itarsi and Bhusaval arr on site and provided all first aid. Some injured taken to Harda District hospital Ex gratia-Rs2lakh for loss of life,Rs50000 for grievously injured Rs25000 for simply injured.
