Kolkata : Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee has stirred a fresh controversy with his remark that (Maoist) leader Koteswar Rao alias Kishenji has been killed during the tenure of the TMC Government in West Bengal. “During the four-year rule (of the Mamata Banerjee-led government), only one person has died (in Jangalmahal). He is Maoist leader Kishenji. By killing him, the Mamata Banerjee government has proved that people will have the last word,” he said at a public meeting in Midnapore yesterday. Mamata’s nephew had last month come under sharp criticism over his remark that those who dared to challenge the TMC administration will have their eyes gouged out and their hands chopped off.
