Dum Dum (WB): Facing flak over the Narada sting operation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today questioned the source of funding of opposition BJP, Congress and CPI(M).
“We are being insulted everyday on the basis of false allegations. Our MP Kakoli (Ghosh Dastidar), doesn’t need to take money from Narada, if she wants she can buy fifty such Narada. Our leaders don’t need to take money from others. We are the most transparent and honest party of India,” Banerjee said in a rally.
“What is the source of funding for Congress, CPI(M) and BJP? They have crores of rupees, where from they are getting so much of money. We will raise the questions of funding in Lok Sabha,” he said. Banerjee also accused former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of not “keeping his promise of waving the huge debt that TMC government had inherited from the Left dispensation”.
“In 2011, during Assembly elections, Manmohan Singh in an election rally here had promised that he will waive the huge debt that the Left regime had put on us. But after coming to power, he didn’t keep his promise. Crores of money was taken away from our coffers,” Banerjee said. Reiterating her barbs against Congress-Left alliance in the state, the TMC supremo said, “CPI-M is now riding piggyback on Congress. Congress have fallen on the feet of CPI(M) and CPI(M) had fallen on the feet of Congress. They have sold their party flags to each other. I wonder what would Jyoti Basu, Promod Dasgupta have done if they were alive today”
