Puducherry: Lt Governor Virendra Kataria, Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy and leaders of political parties today greeted the people of the union territory on the occassion of Diwali.
The festival was celebrated with traditional splendour and gaiety, with people bursting crackers, exchanging greetings and visiting temples early in the morning.
Police were deployed in strength at various points in the city to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
