The Google search results showed Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s name when people searched for ‘Bad Chief Minister of India’. The phrase, which brought embarrassment for CPI(M) leader, was searched more than twenty thousand times on Monday, revealed Google Trends.
The functioning of Google search results is complex to understand, but the possible reason behind Vijayan’s name coming up as ‘Bad Chief Minister of India’ is possibly due to the negative publicity he has got due to the Sabarimala row. His government’s decision to implement Supreme Court’s verdict on Sabarimala Temple has created unrest in several districts of Kerala.
Supreme Court, in an earlier verdict, allowed entry of women of menstruating age to enter the Lord Ayappa shrine of Sabarimala Temple. The implementation of the verdict by Kerala government incited chaos and protests in Kerala. Many people are protesting against the decision, while hundreds of people have been detained by police till now.
