Mumbai : In what can spell more trouble for the state’s revenue minister, Eknath Khadse, the Bombay High Court has allowed a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Vadodra based ethical hacker Manish Bhangale who has sought a CBI probe against Khadse over his alleged links with gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
A vacation bench of Justice B R Gavai and Justice B P Colabawalla allowed the PIL filed by Bhangale who has sought police protection. Citing the call records from Dawood’s Karachi residence, Bhangale has alleged that he was in frequent touch with a specific mobile number registered in the name of Eknath Khadse.
The petition states that though the Mumbai Police has strong electronic evidence against Khadse, it has not initiated appropriate action against the minister. After the decision of the vacation bench, a regular bench will now be hearing this PIL on June 6.
