Change is inevitable in society: Mahamandleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, Tripathi
Ujjain: Free Press team got a chance to meet the Mahamandleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi on Sunday afternoon and held short discussion on the objective of establishing the Akhara and controversies through which Akhara has gone through. The team also asked few questions to Tripathi about her personal life, here at Kinnar Akhara located in Ujarkheda zone.

Mahamandleshwar Tripathi who was beaming with confidence replied frankly on every question fired upon her by the team in this candid discussion. Here are the excerpts of the discussion.

Q. What kind of situations landed the Akhara in controversies?

Our Akhara was dragged unnecessarily in controversies on the issue of accreditation. First of all I want to clear that we did not ask for accreditation to anyone as we do not need it because Kinnars are present on earth from the time immemorial.

Q. How was the response of common folks towards the Akhara?

For the response one should see the video footage of our peshwayi, as the video itself is explaining everything. Denizens of the city have poured immense love on us in the peshwayi. I will call it a divine trip. I was spellbound by the huge turnout in peshwayi. Daily thousands of people are visiting our camp seeking our blessings.\

Q. Are you going to write your Simhastha experience?

Yes, I am looking forward to write my experience in a form of Coffee Table Book.

Q. What message would you like to give to our readers?

We have established this Akhara to regain our past glory. My message for the readers is change is inevitable and religion is not anyone’s legacy. People who do discrimination on the basis of creed, colour and sex should know that our culture teaches us the lesson of harmony and it is pious like water of Ganga that takes the shape of utensil it is kept in. Choice is on us whether to pollute it or purify it.
