BJP slams Rahul, says he can’t see through ‘foreign glasses’

Hansi (Haryana): BJP today hit back at Rahul Gandhi for questioning NDA government’s abilities in handling Pakistan and China, saying the Congress Vice President could not see what the Centre was doing as he was wearing “foreign glasses”.

“Rahul baba says firing is taking at border. What is the difference (with change of government)? Rahul baba there is no change in you. I tell you what difference has taken place. Earlier Pakistan use to start firing and end it, but now Pakistan starts firing and India ends it. We are giving strong reply to Pakistan’s firing,” BJP chief Amit Shah said.

Addressing a poll meeting here, he said during previous Congress regime there used to be no end result of talks with Pakistan.

But, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Pakistan that Kashmir is an integral part of India. “Modi refused to hold dialogue with Pakistan if that country talks with separatists in Kashmir. This has sent a message to the entire world,” he said.

Shah’s comments came against the backdrop of Rahul taking a dig at Modi over unabated ceasefire violations and Chinese incursions. Rahul had said, “It is easy for some people to speak, but doing things is difficult.”

Attacking the Gandhi family for seeking NDA’s work report for initial months, he said the Congress regime had provided a “mute” Prime Minister. The government was “ineffective” in taking decisions on issues like Pakistan and bringing down the country’s GDP, he said.

“Soniaji your family ruled the country for 60 years. We (BJP) ask you what you did for the country. There is no drinking water in villages of Haryana,” the BJP chief said.

Asserting that BJP will give an account of works done by it in 2019 polls with a bold face, he said, “BJP gave the country a PM who can speak.”

“In your (Cong) regime for the last ten years we were eager to listen to PM speaking, but his voice was not heard…,” he said.

He said BJP gave a PM who does not need a bullet proof glass around him when he is addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day. “Our PM with 56 inch chest believes in direct dialogue with people,” he said.
