Party takes a U-turn, decides to forego its 8-year partnership with Nitish
Patna : In order to keep the focus completely on development, the BJP is ready to forego its own role during the 8-year partnership with Nitish Kumar in Bihar. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley made it clear on Thursday that Bihar had slipped on the development trajectory simply because no govt in the last six decades had cared to work for the growth of the state. In condemning the past govts, Jaitley did not even spare the performance of the BJP ministers who had shared power in the Nitish cabinet. This is in stark contrast to BJP’s claims during the Lok Sabha campaign last year that Nitish had simply been taking credit while all good work was done by BJP ministers.
In Patna to release the Vision Document (Manifesto) of the party for the 2015 assembly elections, Arun Jaitley elaborated how 68 years of various govts had cheated Bihar of development despite its rich agriculture and human resource. The FM divided the six decades into two periods, that of Congress and later non-Congress govts.
