While online gaming is gaining popularity in India, an 11-year-old boy has written to Maharashtra government asking for a ban on PUBG.

The 11-year-old Ahad, in his letter to  Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said that this is an “appeal to forthwith ban online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds [PUBG] as it promotes immoral conduct such as violence, murder, aggression, looting, gaming addiction, and cyberbullying”, reported News18. Ahad further wrote in the letter, “I will be compelled to seek appropriate legal [civil and criminal] proceeding as per law; naturally at your cost and consequences” if the game is not banned.

The 11-year-old has addressed that letter to seven people which include Minister of Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Vinod Tawde Maharashtra education minister, and others. However, there has been no reply to the letter from authorities, following which Ahad decided to file a Public Interest Litigation or PIL in the Bombay High Court.
