New Delhi: As Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Dinesh Mohaniya was whisked away by police in the midst of a press conference, the AAP accused the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “witch hunting”.

“Dinesh Mohaniya is the same person who once exposed BJP leader Sher Singh Dagar through a sting. Dagar had tried to bribe him to join BJP, but Mohaniya exposed Dagar through a sting operation,” AAP leader Raghav Chadha said.

“Today Dagar is free while Mohaniya has been arrested,” he added.

The Delhi Police reports to the Union Home Ministry and not to the Delhi Chief Minister.

AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said the BJP is making a mockery of the law.

“Can you imagine that an MLA in Delhi, of all the places, can disrobe a woman in front of hundreds of party workers? This is beyond my imagination. The allegation of molestation against Mohaniya is false and this is witch hunting by Modi government,” he told a news channel.

Raking up the issue of the murder of NDMC officer M.M. Khan, AAP spokesman Dilip Pandey demanded the arrest of Delhi MP Maheish Girri, Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung and NDMC Vice Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar in the case.

“Justice in the M.M. Khan murder case cannot be done until Maheish Girri, Karan Singh Tanwar and Najeeb Jung are arrested,” Pandey said.

He said that since Jung can “influence the probe” through his position, he should be removed.
