Abdul Subhan Qureshi ‘India’s Osama Bin Laden’ Arrested: Know the background of the most wanted terrorist

The most wanted terrorist of India Abdul Subhan Qureshi who is a prime accused of 2008 Gujarat blast was arrested by Delhi police on Monday. He is a leading member of Indian Mujahideen terrorist group.

Background of Abdul Subhan Qureshi

He is known as India’s Osama Bin Laden and was arrested by the police after an encounter. The arrested militant who is suspected to be a bomb maker previously worked for banned terror outfit Students Islamic Movement of India( SIMI) and later joined Indian Mujahideen.

Qureshi who comes from Maharashtra was involved in Guajarat bomb blast in 2008, 21 bomb blast took place in 70 minutes which led to death of 56 people and injured 200 people. National Investigation Agency (NIA) had kept 4 lakh reward for providing information about Qureshi which finally led to his arrest.

Interpol has also issued a red corner notice against him. Gujarat has also issued a arrest warrant against him in 2008 Gujarat bomb blast. The militant who was under the radar of Gujarat, Delhi and Maharashtra police is also a suspect in Mumbai serial train blasts which took place in 2006. He is reportedly the same person who used to sign as ‘Al-Arabi’ in most of the e-mails that originated soon after the terror attacks.

Qureshi is also known as Tauqeer, was born in working family. His father name is Haji Usmaan Qureshi and Mother’s name is Zubeida Begum Qureshi. He attended DeSouza High School and had later pursued Industrial Electronics. After his name came in Gujarat bomb blast his family defended him. His mother had claimed that his son is innocent and said that she had not seen him for many years, she had added that if Qureshi was found guilty, he should be hanged. Qureshi is married to Arifa Begum Qureshi and has one son and two daughters.
