This photograph released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Twitter account (@narendramodi) on December 3, 2015, shows him looking out of a helicopter window at the flood-ravaged areas of Tamil Nadu.  The government was mocked on social media for Tweeting an apparently doctored photo of the prime minister surveying the flood-hit areas. Modi had tweeted an image of himself looking out of a helicopter window as he flew over the area on December 3, saying he was “pained by the devastation” he had seen. The scene through the window was barely visible, but when the government’s press department later tweeted what appeared to be the same image, the view through the window was sharp and clearly showed flooding.  The PIB has since removed its version from its website. A senior official at the prime minister’s office, who did not want to be named, said it was “shocked to see facts being distorted”, according to the Reuters news agency.
