Cortalim MLA Anton Vas on Sunday said that a proposal had been moved to beautify Kesarval spring through the Tourism department.

Vas was speaking to reporters after distributing saplings as a part of Van Mahotsav celebrations at his Cortalim constituency office.

"The process for the beautification of Kesarval spring is almost ready and I have also submitted it to Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, who has extended his cooperation. He has assured to support my endeavour to beautify the Kesarval spring and we will also have a site inspection soon to take the project forward and complete it on priority," said Vas.

Vas also appealed to people to take maximum benefits of the various schemes available with the Goa Khadi and Village Industries board that he heads.

"There are various schemes that offer financial support of up to Rs 50 lakh, and all Goans must take benefits of these schemes. While everyone cannot get a government job, these schemes can help people start a new business or generate self-employment for themselves. I am placed at Junta House in Panaji and available at any time, in case people want to know more details of the schemes," said Vas.

"I want these schemes to reach all households in Goa and am willing to visit different institutions to explain these schemes in detail and hold awareness camps. I also appeal to the Panchayat staff and panchas to promote these schemes or call me to various panchayats so that I can explain the benefits of these schemes to the villagers," said Vas.

Vas also said that a large number of saplings have been distributed to the people.

"I hope the people of Cortalim will plant these saplings and take good care of them so that we can make our State green and also help the environment," said Vas.
