Police booked two persons on charges of snatching a mangalsutra worth Rs 4 lakh from a woman in the coastal village of Anjuna.
The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the complainant Chandali Korgaonkar was walking home along with her schoolchildren.
According to the complainant, as she and her children were walking on the road all of a sudden two people came on a two-wheeler and pulled her mangalsutra and zoomed off.
The woman and her children shouted at the thieves but the duo managed to make good their escape.
Anjuna Police rushed to the spot and registered an offence against unknown persons under Sections 356 and 379 of the IPC late last night. Anjuna Police are investigating further.
